TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Here at El Dorado Tattoos, we will typically wrap your fresh tattoo with Snakeoil Brand "Snakeskin" if you and your tattoo are a candidate for it. We HIGHLY recommend using Snakoil to moisturize your tattoo following the removal of your bandage. We always have some available for sale in shop. Below are the aftercare instructions:

How Do I Take Care Of My New Tattoo With Snakeoil?

  1. Remove bandage and gently wash within 2 hours. For the first two nights you can wrap the tattoo at night or while working. Do not use ointment while its covered - the tattoo will smother.

  2. Apply a thin layer of snakeoil once the wrap is removed. Do not over apply snakeoil otherwise the tattoo won’t be able to breathe.

  3. wash the tattoo 2 to 3 times a day. Its recommended once you wake up, midday, and again at night. Splash the tattoo with lukewarm water, lather antibacterial soap in your hands, and use nothing but your fingers to rub off any kind of buildup (blood plasma and excess ink).

  4. Continue to apply snakeoil for the next 5 to 7 days.

  5. Do not scratch or pick at the tattoo once it begins peeling. No swimming or tanning until 2 weeks following the tattoo.

  6. after 7 days, you may switch to a non-scented lotion or continue to use snakeoil.

How Do I Take Care Of My New Tattoo With Snake skin?

  1. Between the first few hours to the first few days, buildup will appear underneath the wrap. Leave this alone. Its perfectly natural. Do not peel the edges of the wrap

  2. after 3 to 5 days, run the wrapped area underneath some warm water or lay a warm towel over it to loosen the adhesive. slowly peel the adhesive until its off and clean the tattoo like normal.

  3. Its recommended to continue using snakeoil for 2 or 3 days following the removal of the wrap.

Things to watch out for with Snake Skin

  1. Some people have a reaction to adhesives. If you break out to band-aids - be mindful of irritation.

  2. If you notice redness around the edges of the wrap (not from the tattoo), remove it gently with warm water.

  3. if the wrap is coming off halfway before its time to take it off, its recommended to go ahead and remove it completely and heal with just snakeoil.
